Steve and Deanne were very excited about purchasing their new home. The sellers had accepted their offer that day and they had just arrived home from a celebratory dinner. As they walked into their home, they both began to realize the huge amount of work ahead of them to back up their home. “Wow” commented Steve, “we have a lot of work ahead of us.” Deanne just sat their in silence thinking the same thing, but then added “so what are we going to do with all the Custom Home Theater stuff we had installed 2 years ago?
At Technospeak, we hear this a lot from customers that call us. This is especially true of our older customers who have been with us for some time and have had us install 2 or 3 Home Theater systems in Los Angeles for them in the past. In these cases, we would recommend the following:
(1) Once you close Escrow, schedule an appointment with us at your new home so we can see the scope of the project we are dealing with. These days, many new homes have some speakers in multiple rooms, Cat 5e wiring throughout, or maybe even an existing Home Theater with Speakers and Equipment already installed. During this meeting, we can see what you have in your new home and generate some ideas for you on how we integrate it with what we installed in your prior home.
(2) Schedule us to move your A/V equipment on move day. Although we are probably more expensive than your movers, we have the additional benefit of knowing exactly how all your equipment needs to be put back together to bring your the Home Theater glory you have grown accustomed to in your Home Theater in Los Angeles. We will also treat your A/V Equipment with the care it deserves to make sure it does not get damaged during the move, while you mover is not going to differentiate between your new Plasma TV and your Master Bedroom Matress.
(3) Schedule an appointment with us to Install/Setup your equipment in your new home. Although it may seem hectic at first, many of our past clients in this situation scheduled the equipment move and install all in one day. Many of them are taking off the day to move anyway, and top on their priority list is to have something to watch as they ice their shoulder from all the moving they did that day. Another big reason for this is couples who have kids– a working TV is a great babysitter on move day.
So if you find yourself lucky enough to be a new home owner and have the same concerns as Steve and Deanne did– give Technospeak call. We can get your equipment broken down, synthesized with any gear in your new home and back up and running in no time!
