We hope everyone is having a fantastic Holiday Season and are making time to spend with family and friends. At Technospeak we are of course hustling around to take care of all the Technology needs that arise during this time of the year.
As an Integration company, we often get presented with components that we neither sell or service but must still control in a Home Theater in Los Angeles. The HD DVR from DirecTV is a prime example of this. To most of our clients, the difference between their HD DVR and the rest of our control equipment is a seamless experience. However, every once and awhile we get clients that tell us “hey I can’t watch TV anymore, something is wrong with my remote.” In these cases, something may actually be wrong with the Universal Remote or other control piece the client is interacting with. However, in other cases, it could be that the component itself is what is actually not working and has nothing to do with anything we have installed.
Recently, DirecTV has informed us of just such an issue with their HD DVRs. In certain cases, some of their receivers may take up to 11 seconds to respond to a command sent by the factory DirecTV remote or the Universal Remote that we installed. DirecTV is currently working on fixing this issue, however there is no current fix that they are aware of. For those of you who have DirecTV service you probably already know that it is unlikely you will get any kind of credit for this known issue, but we encourage you to try.
If you have any additional questions about your DirecTV DVR or another paid TV service box in your Home Theater in Los Angeles that you think might be having a similar issue, please give us a call at (855) 832-4775 or find us on the web at www.technospeakco.com.
At Technospeak we take the Tech-y out of Technology!
